Personal Information

My name is Florian, I am 23 years old and I am student at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg (Austria). I am in the master program of a discipline known as Mobile Computing as well as Interactive Media. During my education I gained a lot of experience in software development in combination with mobile and wireless contacted gadgets. However, these gadgets do not explicitly address mobile phones as you can see in my portfolio section.

Work

Up to now, I’ve been working on a serious amount of quite interesting topics like speech processing, machine learning, context aware systems and location based services. Also cryptography and distributed software systems crossed my way. Thanks to some awards for different projects, I pleasantly received the chance to participate on a few conferences, where I could also improve my social skills by learning from people with a lot of industrial experience (T-Mobile, Rockstar, Buddycloud, Nokia, Symbian, …).

Multiple times I acted as project manager for midsize software and hardware projects and at the same time I developed a significant part of these projects on my own. As you might read in my portfolio, some of the projects nationally and internationally achieved sustained success.

Current Direction

For the last few and certainly also the next semesters, I changed my direction a bit to computer graphics and game development. Within this discipline I am working on advanced 3D programming, game architecture, some special topics also regarding Mobile Computing (games on consoles and mobile platforms) and artificial intelligence in games.

The reason why I actually created the block was simply to get in touch with people that are maybe also interested in the same topics, but also to demonstrate what can be done now and what might be done in the next few years.

Stuff Beyond Technology

In my freetime I really get involved with sports, computer game and music, which is also reflected by my work (e.g. audio production or computer graphics). I am an enthusiastic skier and snowboarder and I enjoy doing some martial arts like Aikido. This provides me with new mental strength to stand the sometimes everlasting programming or gaming sessions in front of the PC .
