For a brief review of Chrome OS itself you can visit my blog at: http://desentizised.blogspot.com/2009/11/chrome-os.html :-)

I don't see why they release the Chrome OS Browser as a debian package but in the end Chrome OS is based on Ubuntu/Debian so it might be nice for some geeks who dont want to run a Virtual Machine to take a look at it.

One should put this into perspective though; i bought a "regular" Geforce GTX 295 for about 450 € and what i can do with it is i can play Counter Strike Source on 1280x1024 and 16x Anti Aliasing (!) with over 120 Frames per Second (60 needed for pleasant gaming) constantly while watching an MPEG Video on a second monitor full screen; that's how sick the basic performance of two GeForce GTX 285 combined really is.

So while it is nice for Hardware Developers to stay competitive I dont think anyone is gonna need that kind of additional performance unless you have some hardcore video editing to do or anything of that sort and dont want to waste any time.

I read through some Microsoft Blog where it said who was gonna get it now and whos gonna get it later (and who will have to wait for the release *shiver*). I understood that almost any msdn member was gonna get it now. The specified date was the 6th. Ever since it did not appear in my list. So how can i get it with a valid key?

It is interesting to compare the Pre webOS, windows mobile and iPhone OS. I tend to go with things that have a long history as a first step and then depending on several other variables such as short and long term requirements, cost of ownership, and others tend to round out the decision process. I think it is too soon to jump into the Palm Pre pool at this moment and with the recent release of windows mobile 6.5 and announcement of the Zune HD, I will likely stick with Microsoft technologies and be hopeful that windows mobile 7 lives up to the fact that it is a major release. I don't think we will be disappointed. But, this is definitely an interesting time for mobile os's and the next generation devices (netbooks, etc). In the end us consumer will win because we have incredible technology that fits into our hands doing things not thought possible just a few years ago.
